with christmas barely a blip on the radar, we’re already neck deep in spring design samples. yes – you read that right – spring 2014. #designproblems. not that we mind jumping ahead on the calendar a bit. we’re already excited about this collection – it’s full of tiny, whimsical details and lots of wearable metallic accents. we basically want to wear it all the time, which is usually a very good sign. accordingly, we wanted to share a few instagram shots of our latest photo shoot for this collection.

happy monday – we’re off to do some more spring dreaming :)

Ah, commencement. Whenever this time of the year rolls around at Cal, we can’t help but get a tad nostalgic. It’s hard not to miss the wildly optimistic and what we’d like to think were the harmlessly reckless years that comprised our undergraduate career at UC. Turning back to find a snapshot to share with all of you, however, we found it impossible to find a photo that wasn’t {a} ridiculously unflattering {we don’t care to comment on our freshman year footwear or apparel choices} or {b} appropriate to share with the general public {and yet is still somehow uploaded AND tagged on Facebook – it’s a good thing we’re already gainfully employed}. Let’s leave memories as memories, shall we?

Instead, and more appropriately, we thought we’d share some Oxford Hall gifts we think would be fabulous choices for any recent graduate. Some are a little glittery {of course}, some a little sweet, and some are just plain practical. We’ve also popped in some quotes from some of our favorite graduation speeches because, well, good advice is good advice, graduating our not.

Cheers to the class of 2013!

Graduation - Hoops Quote

Office appropriate ear wear – perfect for the first {or 100th} day on the job. Viv&Ingrid, $161

Graduation - Deborah Lippmann Quote

Nail art is trendy but does not win you any favors in an interview {well, most interviews} – opt for a polished neutral instead. Deborah Lippmann’s Shape of My Heart – $17

Graduation - Business Card Holder Quote

Take it from us, it is a lot easier to set the example instead of being the example. But if you end up as the latter, this gold leather business card holder from Russell + Hazel can certainly help you in the looking-responsible department. Russell + Hazel, $31

Graduation - Quote

All that glitters isn’t gold, and post-grad life can start looking a little dull when you’re trolling Craigslist full-time and Mom and Dad stop paying your cell phone bill. Remind yourself brighter times are ahead with this little gem –, $12

Three Things

Call it a gift from mother nature or global warming, but we’re preparing for weekend number two full of copious amounts of sunshine in the Bay Area. To celebrate, we’re lining up some serious Saturday and Sunday plans {think the tasting menu brunch at Sunnyside Cafe, a day trip to the Lake Tahoe area and baking four dozen cupcakes big}. And to prepare for our all out fun-tastic extravaganza, we’ve done a little retail therapy here at Oxford Hall to put together an awesome weekend crash kit. Yes, we shop in our own store – so sue us.

Wishing you a wonderful end to your week – wherever it may take you.

1. LaNatura Lip Balm: Seriously folks, we never leave home without a lipgloss or chapstick handy {not to mention two to three back ups}. These colorful offerings from LaNatura pack a serious moisture punch with their organically-grown shea butter base and they’re finished with one of a few fruity flavors. What’s not to love? Our favorite is the CocoVanilla, but for those with sensitive noses the Vitamin E and Aloe version is scent free. {Tangerine, CocoVanilla, Strawberry, Vitamin E and Green Apple available in Oxford Hall now; $9/ea.}

2. For the lady that carries a lip gloss, a back up lip gloss and a back up, back up lip gloss – meet Stephanie Johnson and her slew of cute mini-carryalls that will conceal even the most serious of chapstick addictions. This sweet, pastel-colored flat pouch is from her new Spring 2012 line. We fell in love with the tweedy texture that still feels refined with the addition of the gold brushing. {See this bag and more from Stephanie Johnson’s new line in store now; from $32}

3. Admittedly, we’re having a star moment here at Viv&Ingrid. These little jet-puffed versions from our Pretty Post line  are an oldie but a goody and have been among some of our favorites lately. They’re simple yet chic and feel fresh for Spring. We throw them on and forget we’re wearing them – which is perfect since they go with just about everything in our closet. {In Oxford Hall or online; from $48}
